Owl Designer: complete feature guide

Choose a card, invitation, poster or colouring-page template by occasion, then set its wording, main animal and look. Blank pages are available too. Every result is made of ordinary editable figures, so parts, colours and positions remain yours to change. Templates include Christmas, Easter, get-well cards and sleepover invitations.

Choose the body, ear tufts, facial disc, eyes, eyebrows, beak, face markings, belly, wings, tail, feet and accessory from 85 finished shapes; every tile previews the complete owl before it is applied.

Each body carries anchor points, so eyes, wings, feet and hats move into the right place automatically when a slim owl becomes a round one.

Ten colour roles keep related parts in step. Fourteen ready-made schemes—seven based on real owls—combine with fourteen crisp geometric patterns that are clipped to each part and rotated where useful.

The cast spans foxes, cats and small mammals, birds and insects, fish and frogs, plus a seal, whale and penguin. Each group uses a body-specific skeleton and parts instead of borrowing the owl construction. Eight small mammals have six to nine part groups, including paws and different poses. Fish have selectable scales. Ducks, chickens, sparrows and the owl in profile share the full owl wardrobe. Every animal except the two insects can wear the party hat.

Place, drag, resize and rotate figures, then reorder layers directly by dragging the list. Speech bubbles, stand-alone text, circles, rectangles, triangles and polygons cover captions, signs and poster layouts.

Branches, trees, a pond, lily pads, sun, moon, stars, clouds, hearts, hills and a spider web behave like animals. Bushes, grass and mushrooms now have separate shelves with several shapes of their own.

Six groups supply the decorations: balloons singly, in threes, as hearts or foil stars; round or two-tier cakes and cupcakes with one to six flickering candles; presents in four shapes with patterned wrapping; bunting with three flag shapes; letter garlands spelling your words; and confetti or streamers. Party hats and the A6 page size round out the card.

Give each figure a restrained loop, stop all motion from one switch, and automatically follow the operating system’s reduced-motion preference.

A link holds the entire design without an account or upload. It opens as a card to view; only Edit brings it into the editor, and that action can be undone. Opening a link never silently replaces work in progress. Older links still work, while new ones are about a tenth shorter. Avoid shorteners that remove the fragment after #. For links beyond roughly 8000 characters, send the project file instead.

The exporter writes the canvas curves directly into a calibrated-RGB PDF, keeping even an A2 poster compact and sharp at the printer’s resolution.

The page and every figure have physical dimensions. An object set to 80 mm remains 80 mm wide on the canvas, in the PDF and in the SVG.

Surprise me chooses parts, colours and patterns from a coherent scheme and avoids covering every available surface with visual noise.

On a narrow screen, tools open below the page so the design remains visible while typing. Below roughly 900 pixels, one of six tool panels opens at a time. Drag figures with a finger, use larger handles and pinch to zoom the page.

One switch redraws the complete scene as clean black outlines on white paper, with colours, patterns and shadows set aside. The canvas matches PDF, SVG and PNG output exactly, while switching back restores every original styling choice.

There is no network code, telemetry, analytics or third-party service. Drawing, session recovery, sharing and export all happen in the browser.
