Moon Phases Generator for YouDesign Calendar

Put a year of moon phases into your calendar

Choose the year, a country-based time zone and four principal phases or all eight. Light and dark symbol styles suit different calendar backgrounds. The resulting AquaMoons event list gives YouDesign Calendar users an editable starting point for printed or digital layouts.

Let the local reference time decide the day

An event appears on the first day when its phase has already occurred at the selected local reference time. With the default of 20:00, a later evening transition belongs to the following day. The exported event records a date only; the reference time is not written to the file.

Generate, check, then save

Set the options, including the reference time, and generate the list. Check the twelve-month calendar, then adjust the line-numbered JSON with find and replace if needed. Save the .ydeventlist using the browser’s file picker or download fallback and import it into YouDesign Calendar. The AquaMoons font is needed there.

Calendar planning, not precision astronomy

Phase transitions are narrowed to the minute. Each country entry represents a predefined city and time zone; arbitrary coordinates are not supported. Manual JSON edits are saved without validation. Existing event lists cannot be imported or merged.

Local processing with a choice of language

Calculations and file creation stay in the browser, with no third-party requests. Preferences are stored locally; generated events remain in memory until the page closes or a file is saved. Use a current browser; there is no offline mode.

All 21 interface languages have their own URL. Controls, countries, time zones, calendar labels, phase names and status messages are localized, while exported event names and filenames remain English. Status changes are announced to assistive technology, and reduced-motion settings stop animation, including the star background.
