Only one window is visible, not the whole screen
A single window was chosen when sharing instead of the whole screen. This is not a missing permission but a choice — with a consequence that surprises people: remote control does not work with a single window in most applications. Anybody who wants to be controlled has to share the entire screen.
Applications
Apple menu, top left → About This Mac — It shows the name there, for example "Sequoia 15.6". From macOS 13 onwards this window looks different than before.
